We’ve all been there. You’re three-and-a-half hours into a download, the bar is hovering at 98%... and your computer freezes. Now you have to restart the download from scratch, and even worse, wait yet another day to finally start watching that Sopranos season you missed a few years ago.
GetRight is a downloading management program that ensures you’ll never lose a download again. But that’s only the beginning. It supports multi-gigabyte file sizes and allows you to queue, prioritize, and schedule downloads. Specialized tools allow you to scan an entire website and easily extract the desired images and files. Best of all, if a download is ended prematurely, GetRight can pick up where it left off, ensuring you won’t waste any time re-downloading.
I have been using GetRight since version 3 and I absolutely LOVE it. Jump on this deal! You buy once and get free upgrades forever!
I have never used any of the free download managers with the exception of the relatively poor one included with firefox. GetRight supports standard FTPs as well as BitTorrent. If there are mirrors available it will download a single file through up to 16 segments simultaneously. It even does a mirror search. Of course it supports resuming as well. I use it to get one file at a time, so I'm not sure if it supports directory/tree batch downloads.
We had a few reports of the coupon not working this morning, so we've got a new one from the Vendor (although most people seemed to make it work just fine). If you were having problems seeing the discount earlier, these problems have now been resolved.
How does this compare with some of the free products - like http://freedownloadmanager.org/ or some of the other tools.
If you're using FireFox, I'd recommend using the DownThemAll plugin, and for Internet Explorer, consider installing "Free Download Manager". I hesitate making these recommendations, though, because GetRight was really the first company to start doing downloads right, and I feel a bit like a traitor in recommending other alternatives. It isn't a costly purchase (I bought GetRight back about v 3 myself, but due to the need for hardware/OS reinstalaltions I'm not using it today -- a different read morestory), and it really does help a great company that arguably pioneered "doing downloading well".
I decided to try out Free Download Manager (link above) since the GetRight is available for sale on discount all weekend and I found that the newer version works with Firefox ,and works pretty well. It has a lot of features with BitTorrent, and other plug-ins. I decided to use GetRight trial and I have to say it works very nicely, but given that Free Download Manager is, well free I will stick with it for a little while. I have noticed that discounts seem somewhat cyclical so I will probably see read moreGetRight for sale again the in the near future (3-4 months or less) and maybe by that time I will have some gripes with the free one. I have to say, at least either buy GetRight or get the Free Download Manager - my downloads were just so much faster than normal (it used multiple sessions and spliced them together - I have a 6MB download speed and even 50MB downloads were 3-4x faster than normal downloading,). Also, the ability to create "groups" was nice - so I could have default locations to download and save sofware.. Pretty nice.
Every day we offer 24 hour discount deals, on a Windows software application, or a web service. We feature our deals at a substantial discount; the discount is available for that day only.
We don't process the sales; we just arrange the discounts and provide the links. You buy the program right from its vendor. Everything we feature is a legal, current version of the product.
