Read MorePavi Johnson Well, I checked reviews online, and found one one: PCMag, albeit for the free version. Unfortunately, they say that it had the worst malware removal and worst rootkit blockng (zero blocked) of any product they had tested... ever! Their bottom line states "Avoid it at all costs." http://www.pcmag.com/arti...313,00.asp

I haven't tested it, but this is strongly concerning. Can the vendor point to any other independent test that might give a different view of the product? There are links to positive Cnet reviews on the home page, but these are broken and no mention can be found of Anvi Smart Defender on Cnet.

Candice Shirk PCmag reviewed the old version that may contains some bugs. Now the latest version is pretty powerful.

I too have read the same report and have also read this from malwaretips.com, http://malwaretips.com/Th...acked-Test.

I too am skeptical about this free software version, but have not tested this specific version (Pro).

Has anyone done any valuable tests with the Pro version here? If so, what were the results.

Update:
I can say, I tested this software with a simple fake virus file as well as the EICAR test file and if caught them as well as cleaned them.

Ed Gudz I wouldn't use this if it was free, I wouldn't use it if you paid me to, I installed this exact version not more than a few weeks ago as part of a giveaway on another site and I will tell you it has to be one of the worse antivirus / security solutions I have ever come across ........ it catches NOTHING.

Users be warned, you are much better off with any other free security suite solution.
