- “I work with children with autism, and in the past we've created personal "books" known as social narratives or social stories to help them with issues they have. In the past I've always used something like Word or Powerpoint in order to create something our kids can use, and while the final product looked good, it also looked very homemade. I had spied this program a couple of times over at Office Depot, and seeing that it only cost $20, I thought it would be worth trying it out as an alternative for creating social stories. After getting it home, it only took me a couple of minutes in order to discover I had a winner.I cannot stress how easy it was to create a multi-paged comic book. Using google images, I was able to track down every image I needed for this kid's special story. And for the things I couldn't find, or wanted something better, Comic Creator has a small library of backgrounds, characters, and props. Oh, and the final product...the comic book, looked so well done. I immediately got complements from people who do this kind of thing all of the time. Considering it was hobbled together off of freely available images off the internet, that said a lot.Even if I looked at this from the standpoint of productivity, it took me far less time to create a social narrative with Comic Creator than it would have with Word or Powerpoint, and I'm well practiced with both of those programs. So, in a very real way, it saved time and money. There are some little flaws that I ran into, but they were extremely minor, and easily worked around. For example, dispite having picture tools for many other things, I couldn't find a way to flip an image in the program itself. So if I wanted a character to face left instead of right, I had to modify the image in another program (it took no time at all), and then open it using Comic Creator. Now, the answer to something like that could very easily be something I just missed, but other things like the absence of quick (right click) cutting and pasting, or having a default font/font size for a project slowed down things that could have been even faster.Even though I had a very narrow, very specialized reason for using this program (to create social stories), I can easily see this working for it's intended purpose of creating regular comic books. It's a simple interface that a older child could use on their own with ease, and get them interested in other more sophisticated programs. A very nice product, and at $20, it's unbeatable.Cheers!”- Donovan Chapa
- “I tried many comic generating software titles, and found Summitsoft Corp Comic Creator Software to be the easiest to use, manage, and create. The only draw back was the lack of a professional draw feature. I recommend this product.”- Steve J. Cohen "mrGamps"
