Spam has been around for years, and it's still just as annoying as it was 10 years ago. Fortunately MailWasher Pro can help purge your inbox of spam, plus unwanted newsletters, large emails, and any other annoying email.

Come and join over 8 million people who've escaped from the clutches of spam with the all new MailWasher Pro 2012! In under 5 minutes, you'll be able to stop unwanted mail and spam from ever reaching your computer. Once installed, MailWasher Pro 2012 uses advanced logic and filtering to analyze each email as it arrives, warning you if it detects the message is junk mail or a virus. You can preview each flagged message and mark it for deletion, before the message (and any dangerous viral payload) is downloaded to your machine.

One of the best things about MailWasher Pro 2012 is that it allows you to view all your email on the server before it gets to your computer, so you won't accidentally download inbox cluttering spam, plus viruses can be removed instantly. So, in effect it works like an email checker for all your email accounts in one place.

MailWasher Pro 2012 maintains a constantly updated user-wide database of spam emails called FirstAlert! Once a message has been flagged as spam by any MailWasher Pro 2012 user, it gets reported to FirstAlert! . Once verified as SPAM, no other MailWasher Pro 2012 user will ever receive that message! Used in conjunction with all the other spam tools in MailWasher Pro 2012, you get an unbeatable spam-slamming tool!

There's a whole host of bonus features that come with MailWasher Pro 2012. You can set up Friends lists, Blacklists, and custom filters -- plus, MailWasher Pro 2012 can be taught to learn what kinds of email you want to receive! You can even configure MailWasher Pro 2012 to send a bounceback email in response, tricking the sender into thinking that your email address no longer exists!

Best of all, MailWasher Pro 2012 works with an unlimited number of email accounts with any email messaging program, including Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, Hotmail, GMail, Incredimail, and all the others!

Please note that you must install/register the software within 24 hours.

After you purchase MailWasher Pro 2012, it may be used for 12 months.

ron r What happens if I install the program now and next week I reformat my HD and reinstall my OS and all the applications?
Does this mean I can't use mailwasher anymore?

Windows 8 will come out (soon?) and MS will drop the prize of windows 8 drastically for a short period of time, in that time a huge OS reinstall/upgrade may take place.

This could "break" the license when installing windows 8?

Nick Bolton Hi Ron,
No need to worry, once you've activated the license on the day then you can activate it again later.

Ted Sudol Like many gmail users I've let my mail build up. What Mailwasher Pro does is collect 300 emails at a time to wash or clean of spam. Once that group of 300 has the spam washed out the remaining messages you have not deleted reduce the number of messages you can wash. So say in your initial group of 300 messages you washed 150 that were spam. The next time you retrieved messages it would only retrieve 150 messages plus the 150 that weren't spam. so you quickly are not able to wash any new mail. What I am looking for is to set Mailwasher so it can retrieve more email each time, Recognize checked emails so it doesn't keep them in the new emails to be washed. Emails to Mailwasher support have not been answered.

Nick Bolton Hi Ted
There's no limit to the amount of email or gmail you can view in MailWasher, so I'm unsure as to why you're only able to retrieve 300 at a time. We've had it up to 60,000 emails comfortably.
I'd say this is somehow limited by gmail, perhaps if you're accessing your email in Mailwasher with IMAP, to switch to checking it with POP3 (it won't make any difference to how you manage your email since you're only seeing a copy of the email in MailWasher. Go to SettingsAccounts, 'Incoming' tab, then switch IMAP to POP3, click Save).
I couldn't see any emails from you to our support team either with the email address you supplied.

Read MoreHKP I’m already using MailWasher Pro 2012 and I like the software. However, even excellent things can be made better, so I have to suggest an improvement: Users can only categorize the emails of the inbox as good or as spam. The good ones are colored green and the spam red. The software itself can classify incoming emails in third categories. I’m receiving such a kind of email just in this moment. These emails are under laid grey. This category is perfect for a certain kind of newsletters which senders don’t really belong to the friends list. I would like to see a setting in a future version which provides a possibility to the user to choose this third category too.

Apart from that the software let me choose the settings as I wish. Already the uses of the filters alone are capable of doing the whole job. Thanks for introducing this fine software.
Aug 25 2012 at 5:21am Copy Link

Nick Bolton @Hans, thanks for the suggestion - it's a good one, also as you mentioned you can achieve this with filters already. For us it's a bit of a fine line between adding features and over complicating things for new users as they can often get overwhelmed with options.

Kevin Snyder Does this app still "bounce" spam mail? I ask because years ago my ISP blocked my ability to send emails shortly after I began to use Mailwasher's bounce back feature. Essentially my IP address was flagged for spamming. It took me a week and several support techs to figure out what was going on.
Aug 26 2012 at 12:14pm Copy Link

Nick Bolton Hi Kevin, you can bounce email if you want (press the 'B' key to mark an email for bouncing - not so obvious). But we don't recommend bouncing anymore for the reason you mention and because spammers falsify the return email address so bounces don't go anywhere, or to innocent people where the spammers have used their address as the return address, so it's really a waste of time. That said, it works well for bouncing back email to real people you don't like and newsletters.

Read MoreHKP @ Kevin Snyder: Yes, this application can bounce e-mails. However, it does that only if you choose this function. To find this function you need an incoming e-mail. An e-mail to yourself will do. To bounce the e-mail you can use the icon of the preview window, or you can make a right mouse click in the upper window directly on the line of the relevant e-mail. The third last entry from the pop-up menu lets you bounce the appropriate e-mail.

Thank you for your hint that using the bounce function caused an issue during the past. To figure out if the problem lingers on I tried it out just a moment before in a virtual environment. I send primary an e-mail to myself, used the bounce function, chose mail washing so that the e-mail disappears and sent another e-mail to myself again. One moment later I found two new lines in my inbox: The first entry was the message “returned mail." The second entry was the additional e-mail which I dispatched after the bouncing. So the bouncing doesn’t block no longer neither outgoing emails nor incoming emails like the message “returned mail” as a result of my test. It’s good to know for me too that there is no reason to worry.

By the way, it may be of interest that there is no automatic bouncing set as default when you install the software.

@ Nick: I guess that Kevin mainly was worried about a malfunction that occurs when he uses the bouncing. Even so, there actually is none.

lemonade soda What does 1 year license mean? That the software only works for one year and then stops. Or that I can receive upgrades for one year, after which, the version I "bought" is fixed and does not improve... but I can at least keep using it.

Nick Bolton Odd you got some installer errors, I had a quick search around this problem and got this suggestion "If this is a clean install, make sure that the installation is not blocked by an anti-virus program or monitoring tool.", also perhaps you might like to right click and select to install as administrator.
Which email client are you using and version?

Not only do you have to renew your licence after a year, but if you happends to reinstall more then 3 times, that calls for a new licence.

A bit to much call for new licences here for me to even wanna try the free version. Since I test software daily, both from here and other places, I need to recover my computer about once every 3 months to make sure it runs smooth. Some times due to software more often. So my expected lifetime for 3 installs per footprint is 6 months.

Read More_*_ I got this last time it was here.

The reason I am not using it regularly is, I cannot figure out how to make MailWasher leave my emails on the server when it downloads and cleans the mail.

I keep all my software registration numbers out online and do not want them deleted which MW has done.

If there is a way it would be great to know.

Otherwise great program

Michael Johnsson @ M B

I to used to store those registration mails, but, some times mail sorta poffs. Now day I use KeePass Password Safe. There I also store a copy of the mail as an attachment. This way I need not to worry about the mails. This database you can then store a copy off on your usb and internet, even mail your self a copy every now and then.

Read More_*_ Michael Johnsson, thank you for letting me know how you save your registration numbers.
I use MyInfo, which I purchased on Bits.
However, I still have to keep it on a flash drive or burn to CD/DVD and then constantly update the file and re-save it all over again.

Even though I try to save the numbers in another way, I would like to have control within MailWasher to allow me control of what I want done.

It should be an option within the program to leave messages on the originating server or not.

Thanks again for the insight.

Lupke Brother I don't understand the prices. On your website it says mailwasher pro costs $ 39,93. On BDJ it is $29,95 and now for free. So, after one year I have to renew my 3pc license and pay $39,95 or will this be discounted.

Another question. Mailwasher pro has a 50% discount offer on cnet. See: http://download.cnet.com/...62240.html $14,98 instead of $29,95. If we install the giveaway today and buy the cnet 50% deal, can we install the cnet license after one year, when the BDJ giveaway license stops working or not?

Nick Bolton @ M B, you should switch your USA.net email account to IMAP from POP3 and this will allow you to keep your email on the server, but for any important email you can create a new IMAP folder and move your important email over to it. This will allow you to still access your email anywhere and new email will still be delivered to your inbox, but any email you want to keep you can move/view in the other IMAP folder.
MailWasher can't control what emails to keep on the server, it's something the email client does.

Ok, thank you for clearing this up. The other question I had was this:

Yes to the first question (just change the license key in the software), but no to the 2nd question as it would be a new license key.

Read MorePhred E Nick,
We have a problem.
Something to remember for all time: we are NOT all administrators. Remember: Safe Hex.

The trouble with installation of MWP (and all other programs, in general) is that installation requires administrative rights - and your program offers to place data in the AppData branch of THAT admin, the one doing the installation - not the user who will be using.
A knowledgeable user knows to alter the suggested username in the suggested location, but that doesn't seem to be a user-friendly installation method, nor an obvious one.
And it seems to be hard to inhibit placing files into a Firetrust branch.
Offering to run MWP at the end of the process (the tick-box) implies a bad-practice assumption.
Is there a simpler way to install that you have devised?
Aug 27 2012 at 8:32pm Copy Link
0
Nick Bolton Hi Phred, yes, Mailwasher Pro actually installs for all users on the PC, after installation, just log onto the other user, start Mailwasher Pro from the start menu shortcut, and set it up like you would on your main users installation.

The setup files are saved per user, so each user can have their own individual setup.

Tomas Barth "Microsoft Exchange - no, unless you access POP3 or IMAP via it." I´m afraid I lack technical knowledge to understand what is meant by this. Regarding http://www.firetrust.com/...ise-server it seems to be for people having a server. I am a one person company using an external service for Microsoft Exchange. dominique francois-bongarcon Along the years, I have suggested several times that the number of e-mails read (contained in the display window) should be displayed, to no avail.
Yet, this would be very useful when downloading to a mail client after cleaning. As a check.
I keep counting them, which is not easy when there is more than a windowful......
May be now someone could think a little about it again?
