How do you manage your information? Sure, you may have an application for Contacts, and another for Appointments, and still a third for Finance stuff, but why not replace all three with today’s discount software promotion, doogiePIM?

doogiePIM is an innovative information management system that handles your bookmarks, passwords, contacts, finance, calendars, tasks, notes, and even email. With doogiePIM, you’ll be able to link all of your data records together in a multidimensional chain. It’s the perfect resource for writers, bloggers, small businesses, and everyone else!

Can you imagine using a web browser that automatically blocks advertisements? doogiePIM has one! Or storing your passwords in a highly secure vault, accessible only by you? It’s in doogiePIM! Combine those two killer features with the ability to manage Contacts, Finance, Appointments, Tasks, Notes, Daily Journals, Events, and email all without leaving the app, and doogiePIM becomes an essential part of your daily workflow!

Best of all, doogiePIM stores all of your information in a local database that’s encrypted, so you never have to worry about accessing a cloud when you don’t have connectivity. In fact, you can take doogiePIM with you on a portable USB flash drive and keep everything in your pocket!

Gary User i use Commence RM desktop for my information manager. It connects with Word and Outlook via DDE. It can also import csv, tab-delimited, and db files intro its database. Does Doogi PM have similar features?

BiteSpire (Chris) @Gary:
doogie has some linking with Outlook in order to import varies records. There is also a csv import for each type of record; Contacts, etc. There is also an EML import/export for email messages. see here: https://bitespire.com/hel...0file.html

Tim Parsons I bought v3 from here a while back. When v4 was released, I tried to contact Bitespire to enquire about upgrade options as there didn't seem to be a clean like-for-like upgrade path or the promised discounted pricing.

No responses were ever forthcoming.

So I'm tempted by this -- but I suspect we're looking at a discounted release of v4 because v5 is likely sometime soon, and I'll be back where I was. For that reason, I think I'll pass.

Dave User Download page only has install versions. How do I get a portable copy?

BiteSpire (Chris) @Tim: All inquiries using the free ticket system are always replied. Looking back at our messages and tickets, I don't see anything from your name. Tickets and other contact details are here: https://bitespire.com/contact.php
We usually give major versions for free for those purchasing a prior major version within a few months. This is what we did with v3 to v4.

Read MoreTim Parsons @Chris -- I emailed, 6 months ago, 14th September. it's still in my sent items folder, your software@ email address, on exactly this subject. No response.

I don't think I found a ticket system. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right place.

However, I said this:

---

I have DoogiePIM, purchased via a BitsDuJour deal a while back. There's a new version, it says. An upgrade, presumably. But I have no idea what upgrade options might be available as it tells me nothing. There's an all modules option at hugely expensive and various others but all I really want is what I already have, in a supported version.

Dave User Chris@Bitespire,

Just to clarify - I haven't yet been asked to enter the "code" included in my email. Is the executable I was allowed to download all there is to running a registered copy, or should I enter that code somewhere in the program?
I don't want any problems 30 days from now...

Dave

BiteSpire (Chris) @Dave: The "Code" is your personal license code for your version for future upgrades. The download you get from the email and/or your BiteSpire Account page are all full versions with no need to enter the code. Your download link package is tailored only for you. The only 30 day version is the free version from this page and on our home page.

BiteSpire (Chris) @Tim: We still can't locate your message. However, for the last upgrade v3 to v4, please see this page: https://help.bitespire.co...de-pricing
I would use doogiePIM then just use the sections you want instead of buying any individual sections.

JW Just to clarify .. can I have a database actively stored on my PC's HDD and use my laptop to input data (to its local SSD storage) when it's outside of my study - and then use some synchronising (software?) for all the data?
Tuesday at 4:31am Copy Link
0
BiteSpire (Chris) @JW: Yes, you can have a local database. That's the whole idea of doogie, that it isn't cloud based storage. Although, you can use the built-in web browser to access your Google Drive, etc. It's advisable to use a very good SSD and use the portable version of doogie. That way, you can pop it into your PC when you work then take it with you. There are no features to sync between two databases in version 4. That's an option for a future date ;) - Chris. Oh, and always shutdown/close your database BEFORE removing your SSD.

NRL Is this 32-Bit or 64-Bit? I want to install the demo version to try it. Is there a reason it installs to C:\ directly instead of Program Files or Program Files (x86)? Can I install it in Program Files or Program Files (x86)?
Tuesday at 11:51am Copy Link
0
BiteSpire (Chris) @NRL: This is currently a 32bit executable. Feel free to install it into Program Files. However, the Data Files which is a sub-folder may not play nicely with Windows. If you're not using a multiuser Windows, then the default folder \BiteSpire\doogiePIM is perfectly fine.

NRL Thank you Chris. I will use a crappy old computer with multiple users to test how it works installing in Program Files (x86) and see what happens. Will you consider extending the offer for another day? If not then I might just use the default directory on my main computer if I decide to purchase it today. It looks like a really nice program. Thank you again.

BiteSpire (Chris) @NRL: No problem. I'll give the go ahead to extend the offer. I want people to download and take a look at doogie first. Let me know if there's anything else I may help with.

Mark Snyder I'm very close to a purchase. The only thing that concerns me is in the fine print it says it must be installed within 14 days. I like to reimage my PC every 6 to 8 months so I would not be able to reinstall, correct?

BiteSpire (Chris) @Mark: The licence is perpetual. You are free to use your licence to install on any machine, now or far into the future.

JW @BiteSpire (Chris) - Thanks for the clarification re the 'portable' option.

Seeing as how BiteSpire is a UK-based business (and I'm in GB too) should I be paying directly in GBP or pay using my CC where the company has to convert to US Dollars which then has to be exchanged back into GBP for transfer to the actual seller? [This simply means the banks skim off twice!]

BiteSpire (Chris) @Marc: Unfortunately, doogie doesn't have an Evernote import. However, if you can export from Evernote in PDF, RTF, or TXT format, then you can put them in the Documents sections of doogie. Download the trial and try it out.

Read MoreDierk Follow up (See original note below): Downloaded doogiepim to laptop (also Win 11), and attempted install: this time a message popped up:
"Windows Protected Your PC...
MS Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting....
App: doogiePIMinstallation.exe."

Note that it does NOT say it is Dangerous or Malware - simply Unrecognized.
My GUESS is that my desktop halted install for same reason, but simply did not throw up the Error Msg... (Now: To decide whether or not to Trust install...)
......

As a longtime "PIM" user (but never doogiePIM...) wanted to take a look at the Free Trial before deciding whether to jump in.

Alas, have downloaded the installation file 3 times (not counting 3 failures...), but NONE of them actually install.

Windows 11
"\Downloads\doogiePIMinstallation.exe" Application 110,653 KB

All three show same dl size; Prod Ver 4.0.0.434; BiteSpire Ltd; sha 256

What it is that I am overlooking?

Thanks -

BiteSpire (Chris) @Dierk: We've replied via support ticket to your issue. Please check your inbox. If you've seen a blue window, that's Microsoft Windows being cautious. doogiePIM has been correctly signed with a code signing certificate - it just takes a while for MS to eventually recognise it. doogie was last compiled on the 22 March 2025, not long ago.

Thanks for replies - will check the Support Ticket reply for any additional details.

The odd thing was that my Windows 11 Desktop did NOT present any error or warning messages: it simply did NOT install the app (doogiePIM) - while the Laptop, also running Win11, threw up the "Windows Protected Your PC" dialog box.
Both systems are running a VPN + Norton (360), but DISABLED both of those apps after the second failure to install.

Will try again on the desktop to see whether an additional day has made a difference.

BiteSpire (Chris) @Dierk: Microsoft replied to my query, "The warning you received indicates that the submitted file(s) did not have a verdict in our system. We can confirm that the files submitted are now determined as clean and attempting to download or run the application should no longer show any warnings.
Due to the complexity of our backend systems, it may take up to 12 hours for the determination to be fully reflected and for the SmartScreen warnings to stop."

In other words, wait days until Windows updates or see if you can force a Windows Defender update by going to Windows Updates then "Check For Updates". **fingers crossed**
