Toolbox is command line tool version of our image editing automation and photo enhancement application family. Toolbox as command line tool is very nice utility for server side image editing. It can be used with batch (.bat) scripts and other applications. Sometimes it is much faster to work with command line tools and that is the reason why we developed SoftColor Toolbox.

Roderick Nicolson Many thanks for your quick and useful answer. I can see how it would be much faster which is a good thing.
My main concern though would be to do with not being able to tell how a photo is going to appear before it's enhanced. My experience of photo enhancement is that it's still a bit hit and miss. Some photos come out wonderfully well while others are badly messed up. I guess there is no way of telling with a command line tool.

Petri Piirainen We have focused SoftColor Toolbox for large scale batch processing and also for server side image processing. It is true that automatic enhancement is challenging with batch processing. Automatic enhancement is one part of Toolbox’s tools there is image editing, color management and lot of batch processing and server tools inside toolbox. Also Toolbox has very flexible configuration files for batch processing. All our applications use save image editing engine this means that same parameters can be used with our graphical software (Automata, PhotoEQ) and Toolbox. If there is thousands images which need to be processed then Toolbox is fast and flexible application for that project.

Software Guy Most users are going to want the Softcolor photoEQ. You might want to consider trying it if you have not. The feature I like the best is the histogram color equalizer - I suspect that is the origin of the name. The program also has batch capabilities. Its bigger brother is Automata - both are on sale today. Give them a try - you will be pleasantly surprised.

J S There is some real ''jiggery-pokery'' going on with the prices of this product:

Yesterday's 84% OFF promoted Deal was $47.84 on a "RETAiL PRiCE" of $299.00

Yet Today's 50% OFF after promotion deal is $74.50 on a RETAiL PRiCE of $149.00

You can't possibly have 2 "RETAiL Prices" that are so very different in fact 1 being literally twice the price of the other "RETAiL" price.

Yes the final prices of both deals do look attractive, but it looks - too me at least, as though the RETAiL PRiCE offered during the Bitsdujour Promotion Period was iNFLATED to make the Deal look far more attractive, whereas the discounted "after promotion" price is still pretty attractive but based on a more realistic RETAiL PRiCE.

There are a few vendors on Bitsdujour who seem to PLAY with their prices and possible buyers are often very wary of the vendors 'business practices' and where possible look for an alternate product.
