DrTeeth According to this page, this is NOT the Pro version, but the home version. There is no policy tab, but trusting BdJ as I do, I would expect a free license to the home edition, which is valid up unit the next major upgrade.

Just Me Right. When I said "Home," (sort of pro in my mind) I meant as opposed to "Free," which is what I have currently.

Thank you for your comment. I was afraid that because it said "download TRIAL," if I installed it, it would SOON (say, in a week or month) revert to the free version which I already have, which would be a waste of time. (That or purchase this home version, which I wouldn't do as the free is pretty good.) Thanks a lot.

The free one is not on the list, but I do belive that Home and Free are basic the same, just that one has a serial on it.

Updates from build to build are always free and are normally automatic, so if you've been accepting and using the automatic updates, then you are up to the same build as this one -- Build 7.

To check if you have the latest build, use the "Help" menu's "About" item.

To update if you don't have the latest build, use the "Help" menu's "Check for Update and News."

However, uninstalling your existing Zoner Photo Studio 14 Home and installing this version is also a fine way to update, if you would prefer to do it that way! It also makes future upgrades to a higher/later version easier if you have the program from That Other Giveaway Site.

Zoner Software Hi Kevin,

When you uninstall the program, there is a window during the uninstall where it asks if you want to keep or delete your settings, etc. If you don't change anything in that window, all your settings will be kept.

In short: your settings, etc. will remain.

I've installed both the Home version and the 'New' Free version just for a comparison. Other than the title bars, they look to be identical at first glance.

Victek I installed ZPS 14 in Win7x64 without any problem, but when I try to start it I get an error saying "the application was unable to start correctly". This is true with both shortcuts (32 bit and 64 bit). I had the same problem when ZPS 14 was the Giveaway of the Day recently. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Try Re-Installing. If that doesn't work tell us your System Configuration (Hardware) so that someone can give you some better advice.
Note I have it installed on a Win 7 Premium d4-bit laptop running an Intel Core i-5-2400M CPU @ 2.30 GHz with 8 GB RAM
All Links start the program and it works fine on my system!

I received mine within minutes but was a little offended with what was created.

F--K are the first 4 letters. You can guess what it says.

If you send me an e-mail address I can send it to you so you can see. I can keep it if you like me to. I've never had anything like that before. I wish it was a contest to win money by getting this word.

I will try this program tomorrow unless I'm told otherwise.

Zoner is a very good application for browsing and doing image adjustments. However, because it works directly with the native format of the image, it does not allow you to work with layers. The Pro version (which I own) does have what they call a "layer" option, but it's nothing near what you get from Photoshop or Gimp or any similar product: Zoner's a single layer which is more like a "stamp" than anything. Otherwise it's a great piece of software for that it does: just don't expect it to replace everything.

Kathy Sharp I, too, get a "Zps.exe - Application Error" whenever I try to run. The error message is "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application."

I tried reinstalling and the application still fails to start.

I have:
Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1
Intel Core i7 CPU L 620 @ 2.00 GHz
8 GB RAM
64-bit OS
(It's a Lenovo ThinkPad tablet.)

Can anyone help me?

This is not multiple layers -- to sensibly have multiple layers, we'd have to be able to save them. To save them, we'd need a format that supports them. None of the standard ones do, so we'd have to make our own - let's call it a "ZIF" file, "Zoner Image Format". And then we'd have people complaining that they sent their pictures (in ZIF format) to their mom and she can't open it and how can we live with being such horrible people? So, this is not planned.
