AAA games are video games developed by large and established studios with significant budgets and resources. The term "AAA" is used to refer to video games of the highest quality in terms of production values, gameplay, and popularity. AAA games often have multi-million dollar budgets, and they are expected to generate high sales revenue. I don’t think we disagree overall. What I was originally trying to say regarding that graph, was that it was showing a specific dimension of the engines’ relative position and dominance (if that is the right word), but in other dimensions Unreal has a much stronger position. It doesn’t necessarily even mean anything intrinsic about the capabilities of the software, as much as how it is used, by whom and for what purpose. 403. Forbidden. Borderlands 1 had the loot shooting and a cool comic-booky shader thing going for it, but everything else in that game is pretty bland, and frankly I regret my time with it (get rekt, 2009-2010 era Jeff Gerstmann). Boring quests/story/writing, pretty bog standard post-apoc/Fallout enemies and bosses (raiders, giant alien bugs, militaristic faction with armour, etc.), mostly forgettable desert wasteland environments. After a while I noticed it was just a soulless level grind where I didn’t particularly care to keep going because everything but the shooting kinda sucked.
