ArcGIS Solutions for State and Local Government Address Collection

Address collection is a critical component of any plan for managing customer data. The process ensures that addresses in the database of the company correspond to addresses on customers' proof of address documents, such as pay tax returns and stubs.

A central database of contacts can also be useful for sending out wedding invitations and holiday cards, and also for managing other personal projects. Here are some suggestions for storing and organizing contact information in the most efficient way possible.

ArcGIS Solutions for State and Local Government

The ArcGIS Solutions for State and Local Government solution provides an array of capabilities to assist in maintaining an authoritative address repository, continually improve the quality of data on addresses and share authoritative addresses with both internal and external stakeholders. The solution comes with an application for ArcGIS Pro that is designed to be used by mapping crews, address verification teams, and other personnel responsible for collecting, maintaining and using authoritative road centerlines as well as valid address data for sites. It also comes with a series of preconfigured ArcGIS Data Reviewer checks that can be used to confirm, maintain, and improve the integrity of address data.

Address data capture is the process of collecting site and postal address for all buildings as well as structures, sites and structures that require an identification number. Capturing ???? is a necessary step towards the creation of a credible street and road network that enables secure and efficient trade and service delivery.

The Address Data Management task allows you to create a new address for your site feature by following the steps in the Add Site Addresses task. Site addresses are unique for the specific structure or location they serve within the parcel. A site address could be the entrance to a driveway which serves one or more houses on a parcel. Site addresses can also be used as a point of contact for a service point like a fire station.

You can add one or more distinct postal addresses to a site address. Postal addresses are used to identify a building, or any other structure, and provide contact details for the owner or occupant. The site address feature type and classification schema is based upon a status field, which allows local governments categorize features into pending, temporary or current.

Assume you are a supervisor for an address authority, and your team is assigned to verify an incorrect address report provided by an external stakeholder. Open the Address Field Inventory map in the ArcGIS Workforce App and search for the address. Select the missing address and then click Edit. Enter the correct address details, including the street name and municipality. Then tap Submit (iOS) or the check mark (Android).

ArcGIS Pro Project

ArcGIS Pro projects allow you to organize and store your work. They also provide access to a variety of tools and functionality. A project could be the combination of scenes, maps, layouts, layers, and layers which display your data the way you want to view it. It can also include connections to databases, folders and other resources to import or export data.

Each item in a particular project includes a set of attributes that describe it, or its metadata. The metadata of a project can help you locate items, analyze and decide which ones are best for your current task. It can be used to record a project's content. A good example of metadata could be the name and description of a map or scene. You can modify the metadata for each item in a project by clicking on the Properties button on the toolbar, or in the Details window.

ArcGIS Pro is reusable. The elements within the project (such as scenes and maps) can be incorporated into other projects. Also, project components (such as toolboxes and geodatabases) can be moved or changed from one location to another. Additionally, many items can be accessed through connections without having to be stored within the project file.

When you launch ArcGIS Pro, the Project tab is displayed on the start page with options to open a recent project or create a new project from a template. It is possible to create a project by using the Map template. This opens a map that has the topographic basemap.

You can save a project either to the local computer or to a folder on your portal that is active. The default location for projects is C: Users username> Documents ArcGIS Projects. If you would like to save your project in a folder you can check the Create folder for this project in the New Project dialog.

It is a good idea to keep your data, ArcGIS Pro installation, and project files on the same computer in order to cut down the time spent communicating. You might not be able to locate all of these components on a single computer or you may prefer sharing files, data, and other files over a network.

Data Assistant Add-in

The Data Assistant Addin is a collection of tools organized in a Data Assistant Toolbar. These tools let you create source-target configuration files and load or replace data.

When utilized in conjunction with the Community Data Aggregation solution These tools allow the personnel from the organization to transform and load data sources into a community layer and schedule automated updates to the layer on a regular basis. These tools allow you to modify the solution to fit your particular organization.

Install the Data Assistant Addin on each ArcGIS Pro computer that will be used to migrate data to one or more layers of community. To download the add-in go to the Content section of ArcGIS and click on the Data Assistant item.

Once the add-in is downloaded and installed, follow the installation steps to install it. After installing, close any open ArcGIS applications prior to opening the new ArcGIS Pro session. Once the add-in is installed, you are able to start it by clicking on the Data Assistant icon located in the ArcGIS Pro Toolbar.

After the Data Assistant Add-in has been installed, you can create a Data Mapping file by using the Configure Data Mapping dialog box. This allows you to define the mapping of fields and settings for a selected source-target configuration file. Once the configuration file is set you can use the Replace Data tool to replace the data in the target layer from the source layer according to the selected setting. ???? provides the ability to stage results in local databases and avoid the final processing by replacing data only on a subset of records.

Data Management

Address data is essential for the majority of companies. It should be precise, reliable and standardized. It doesn't matter if it's for routing mail, offering location services on a site or promoting to potential customers and clients bad data could be disastrous. This is the reason it's vital that all businesses implement an effective address management system.

An address management system is a method to maintain a uniform and verified list of addresses. It helps you easily keep your address database up-to current and ensures that it adheres to national guidelines, like those provided by the country's national postal authority. It also lets you verify and correct incorrect address information provided by internal or external stakeholders.

USPS for instance maintains a database with verified addresses. It also offers an accreditation known as CASS (Coding Accuracy System). Solutions that have been certified by CASS such as PostGrid can directly connect to the official USPS database and instantly verify an address. This can save you time and increase the quality of data.

This issue can be resolved by building an authoritative address repository that can support diverse information needs and continuously improving it through data quality processes. To accomplish this it is necessary to develop an address standard, improve processes to store and capture information, develop audit controls, and assign the right to this information and ensure that it is accessible to all parties.

It is a good idea to integrate the address collection into your company's master data management strategy. MDM deals with a variety of critical business data types, including address data. By connecting your address verification API into your MDM you can update and cleanse the data in real-time, without manual intervention.

To begin collecting and storing address data To begin, you must create an ArcGIS work assignment and add any person who is responsible for verifying addresses in the field to the Address Assignments ArcGIS Workforce project with the Mobile Worker role. They can then travel out into the field and use the app to gather new addresses and verify crowdsourced information. When they're done, they can send the addresses back to the office assigned to them in the office to have them incorporated into the authoritative site address layer and marked as incorporated.
