Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one session without the need to change devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only drawback is that the robot is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.

The only issue I have discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It comes with a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to access furniture with a low profile, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

robot vacuums best is easy to use and understand The X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available and comes with many additional features that set it apart. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. They can be set through the app, or via buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
