Joseph is an easier frontman than Frederiksen and gives the band a needed boost. The band released Mindfields in 1999, and then embarks on a massive worldwide tour. After a few months in Europe they head to Japan where the shows are sold out. After a brief hiatus, Toto resumes their recording and releases their first live album entitled Absolutely Live in 1993.
