The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those who want to remove mopping from their to-do lists. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other options and makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through cleaning.

It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and works well however this is something that you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home, detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and efficiently. This ensures an even and thorough clean, while also being relatively quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the strength of suction, and choose between a back-andforth or more random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it will make, which will determine how quickly the device can traverse your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It is important to keep in mind that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' and a Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants a cleaner home without spending hours doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent option. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum. It is capable of vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which has an elastomer pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate map of your floorplan which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to capture the majority of hair our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some pleasant jingles to let you know that it was beginning and getting its work done.

Its biggest drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to change out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app doesn't have the capacity to store multiple maps, which could be a pain if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

automatic hoover X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some distinct features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock that doubles as a charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning job, recall the robot, or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a hazard, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert on its app.

Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad isn't washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
