Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight places.

For an easy ride, opt for a pram with air-filled tyres. Also, look for models with an swivel wheel that rotates 360 degrees in front. However, they are prone to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with a repair kit.

Sturdy frame

Figures have just been released that show that the three-wheeled buggy which was a symbol of the decade of more money than sanity - is in steep decline. They've been replaced with four-wheelers that are able to handle a wider variety of terrain, yet still look swanky and being easy to push.

The bigger the wheels are the more your buggy will be able to deal with uneven surfaces and bumpy pavements. Having larger wheels both front and back makes it much easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on the newborn baby and a toddler and found it to be very sturdy. pushchairsandpramsuk handled cobbles, grass, and rough pavements, as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it is sturdy to push and extremely solid when traversing difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require occasional pumping) have suspension built-in that was very comfortable for my children.

The size and shape of the seat is another aspect to think about. You want the seat to be large enough to allow your child to be comfortable and allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies will have a full lie-flat option while others will only allow an adult facing one.

A great option for those who want to tackle off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. It can be used as a single unit from birth, and then expands to take two children when your family grows. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from age 4 and includes a bumper bar, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat unit. Storage options are also great, with a large basket, zip pockets on the hood and an attractive pouch at the rear of seat unit.

Larger wheels

Larger wheels means that your buggy will have more stability on uneven terrain, which is ideal for off-road buggies. They also make it easier to manoeuvre the buggy through tight spaces. A lot of three-wheeled buggies come with the front wheels that swivel to help you navigate around tight corners, while others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with the speed at which they can be pushed. This can also help when you crash into the roots of a tree or stray road, as the front wheel can be lifted up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.

Many 3 wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle many different terrains and are much more flexible than 4-wheeler. They're also lighter. However, they are prone to punctures, so you'll need to have an repair kit, spare tube and pump in your bag.

Our top 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. According to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels, which, she says "perform well on gravel roads, grass and market town cobbles", and can easily go up or down kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that according to her "smoothes out bumps extremely effectively".

Buggies with larger wheels may be quite large, and they may be a challenge to fit in tight spaces. This could be problematic if you intend to are using it as a jogger or have to squeeze through doorways that are narrow when traveling. Most models come with small folding options that permit you to take off the front wheels and store them more compactly.

Easy to maneuver

One of the major advantages to a three-wheeled buggy is that it is much easier to maneuver particularly with a child in tow. The way they are built ensures that the front wheels rotate at a whim and are incredibly maneuverable, making them ideal for difficult terrains like cobbles, parks, bumpy pavements and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her toddler and newborn and stated: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the ground and the swivel front wheel particularly useful. I was also impressed with the way it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. I found it to be extremely stable when driving downhill or on uneven ground."

The only drawback to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you should keep in mind if your home area is one of the cities. If this is a concern then a 4-wheeler might be a better option for you.

Bumper bar

Bumper bars are the ideal way to protect your little one from bumps and scrapes when out and out and about. They are simple and quick to put up and help your child feel safe and secure while out on the town or taking on tough terrain.

It is designed to complement the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar is a soft and padded surface that offers a comfortable spot for your child to hold onto while walking. The sturdy construction and durable design ensure that your child can enjoy a stroll without worrying about falling out of the buggy or leaning too far ahead.

The sling is stowed within the frame it is not positioned on top like the seat that is modular. This creates a lower center of gravity for your newborn at the ideal height, and also provides excellent weight distribution to make it easier to pop over curbs (it is much easier to push a stroller up and down than you think). MFM reviewer Kath said it was ideal on cobbles and grass. It's also a good option for running thanks to its tyres that are filled with air and a lockable swivel wheel.

With a chic and sophisticated appearance This bumper bar is sure to draw attention wherever you go. Available in a range of finishes and colours and designs, it can be tailored to fit your style. It comes with a simple quick-release mechanism that makes it simple to install and remove the bumper bar as necessary. Furthermore, the bumper bar is easy to clean and is made from sturdy materials that are easy to clean. This makes it an excellent option for families looking for an attractive and secure accessory for their stroller.

Comfort

A 3-wheel buggy is the ideal off-road vehicle for handling and performance. With perfect design, engineering and weight distribution this kind of buggy is able to be able to turn at a moment's notice and be a breeze to steer using just one hand. Mountain Buggies meet the same rigorous global stability standards and tests as buggies with 4 wheels.

With a fabric sling seat positioned snugly inside the frame rather than on top of it like modular seats, the Sport's smart design allows it to have a lower centre of gravity that is the perfect height for your child - delivering you an easier push, a less hefty curb pop (you don't need as much weight or effort to push the nose of your buggy up and over the curb) and a greater balance and stability. And with the huge rear wheels measuring 16 inches and lockable swivel front wheels and air filled tyres that require only occasional pumping to give you smooth, bump-free rides over rough terrain and a smoother, more comfortable jog.

The only stroller in our range that comes with a parent-facing seat that can also accept the car seat or carrycot, you are able to ensure your family's future is secure and enjoy every adventure starting from the first day, and for years to come!

But that's not the only reason to adore this buggy - our MFM reviewer Kath was impressed by how spacious it is too. There's a big easy-to-access basket that's huge for such a small buggy as well as an excellent zip-up pouch at the rear of the seat unit and even two smaller mesh pockets inside the hood to keep your keys and phone.
