A Built in Microwave Oven Combo Offers Convenience and Versatility

A built-in microwave oven combo offers the best of both worlds by combining your microwave and oven into one appliance. They can free space on your counters and provide your kitchen with a sleek style.

These models are equipped with powerful broilers that cook food evenly. Their microwaves also have the ability to heat food quickly. These models offer a range of options to cook various foods.

Size

Combining the convenience of a microwave oven and the flexibility of an oven on a wall and a built-in microwave and wall oven is an efficient solution for kitchens of all kinds. Browse our selection of combination wall ovens and microwaves to find the ideal one for your home. Make sure to review the cutout specifications for your chosen unit and the installation guide to make sure it fits in your space. Our microwave and oven sets include both microwave and oven models that come in a variety of styles, colors and finishes that can be incorporated into any decor. Look for features such as smart and convenient controls and a power cook function and a built-in self-cleaning feature to help you save time.

Convenience

A built in microwave oven combo can free up space on your kitchen counters and provide a modern design to your space. It can be used to heat leftovers, frozen food items, and pre-packaged foods. It removes the necessity for separate countertop appliances or bulky wall ovens. A combination microwave oven can also be a good option when you are looking to improve your kitchen without having to undergo any major renovations.

You can find microwave ovens in various designs to fit your kitchen's decor. Some come with a swing-out right-to-left door, while others have a drop-down design that opens in the same manner as a traditional oven. You can also get a microwave-oven combo that opens in a drawer, like a cabinet. Microwave drawers are simple to reach and are ideal for small spaces where you need to keep your microwave from taking up valuable counter space.

Combination microwaves can also provide various features to aid in meal preparation and more convenient. Some models feature sensors that allow you to steam your food. This feature adjusts the temperature and duration of your food automatically to ensure that you get perfect steamed fish and vegetables. Other features include a broil element that allows you to quickly melt cheese or brown your favorite dish, as well as Crispwave(tm) technology that allows you to grill or bake food and make it crisp.

Consider how often you'll utilize each feature before deciding on a microwave-oven combination. If you will be using the oven more than the micro, you may be better off buying a double wall-oven. A combo oven has a smaller capacity than an individual oven.

When you've chosen a microwave and oven combo to satisfy your needs, think about the installation procedure. Over-the-range models are mounted over your cooktop or stove and connect to an electrical outlet, while built in microwaves are installed directly into the walls or cabinets of your kitchen. Certain models have trim kits that ensure that your new microwave is in line with the cabinets you already have.

Energy Efficiency

A built in microwave oven combo can provide a great space saving option for those who have smaller kitchens, regardless of whether they reside in a house or apartment. They can help save cabinet space that would normally be taken up by two separate appliances. Additionally, they can also help reduce energy consumption. They typically offer a more efficient cooking method than traditional wall ovens because they use less energy. They can also be used to cook food or warm dishes. This means that there is less need for other appliances like toasters or warming plates.

DOE performs several analyses when evaluating the possibility of amending energy conservation standards. These include technology and market assessments screening analyses, engineering analyses and a national impact assessment (NIA). In this SNOPR, DOE will rely on its existing engineering analysis of microwave ovens to determine the best efficiency improvements that are technologically feasible for this particular product class.

In the engineering analysis, DOE will compare the design parameters of a microwave to a set of energy performance goals. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.

As part of NIA, DOE will assess the impacts on consumers, including cost savings over the lifecycle, as well as the simple payback time (PBP). DOE will utilize the Government Regulatory Impact Model, with an adaptation for microwavable ovens to calculate the industry net present value (NPV).

The impact of manufacturers will be assessed as well, and DOE will use a modified version of the Industry Cash Flow model, which has been adapted for this type of product to calculate the manufacturing NPV. In addition, DOE will consider the potential impacts on small business manufacturers and other manufacturer subgroups to identify any that could be affected in a different way by these proposals.

DOE will also consider whether the test procedure for microwave ovens has to be updated in order to include active mode power consumption and an energy use measurement. Currently, the test procedures only deal with standby mode power use.

Design

Wall ovens are based on evenly circulating hot air while microwaves make use of waves to cause the water molecules in food to vibrate and produce heat. Combination wall units blend both appliances into one unit, which is ideal for securing space in the kitchen and providing a modern and sleek design. However, you must carefully take into consideration your budget and goals before investing in a combo wall oven. Many of the combination wall ovens that we've rated have issues with performance or design.
