Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule The official list below shows reserved time periods - not confirmed exams. Check with your instructor whether or not your course will be taking its final exam during this time. Be sure to read all the Goethe exam conditions and guidelines on each exam page before registering. Also, be sure to register with the correct exam level. Locations The Exam Schedule lists the locations where DEP conducts operator qualification exams. Check out the individual exam pages for additional guidelines, terms and conditions and exam content. If you require special accommodations due to a chronic illness or hearing or visual impairment, please contact the exam provider directly and make sure to provide a detailed document upon registration. The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers an option to "View My Teaching Schedule" which lets faculty locate their exam schedules. In addition, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses that have exams required by NYSED regulations. For evening classes final exams are scheduled during the normal class time during the final exam week. Please note that this Projected University Examination Schedule should only be used as a guide. The final exam dates could be subject to change. Registration Students are advised to check the exam schedule online. It is important to note that the final schedule of exams can change at any moment. Students should therefore check with their instructors to confirm the exact time and date of their test. Students should also print out the official list to take with them to the exam. In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines, terms and conditions. They are available on the page for each exam. Students acknowledge that they have read and agree to the terms and conditions upon registration. Exam locations make every effort to accommodate participants who have special needs. The nature and extent of these requirements must be stated on the registration form and confirmed by an attestation of a doctor. If students are scheduled to take three exams on the same day, they must contact their department or instructor to schedule a make-up test. While it is possible to take three exams in one day, this can result in high stress levels and could affect the quality of the test. The instructor may not be able to give an opportunity to take a makeup test on a different day. Before taking the exam Students must prepare for the exam by studying the study material and practice their German skills. The test is a written test that tests your ability to read and write German. The results of the exam are presented on a scale from A1 to C2. Students who pass the test receive an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate documents that they have achieved the level of A1 in their language. This level corresponds to the first stage of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of cost. Students must bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. Anyone who does not have a valid photo ID will be disqualified from the examination. Fees You will have to pay an exam fee if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the course fees. Practice tests allow you to get an understanding of the style of the test, the language, and the difficulty of the questions on the test. They help you evaluate your level, discover gaps in knowledge and improve your chances of passing the exam. Please note that the exam fee isn't refundable. Exam results can only be electronically sent, not via phone.
