Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when affixed to her bed, with the legs firmly snapping into the bed and the zips secured for baby-safety. It took Anna approximately 10 minutes to put together and didn't require any tools. There are clear instructions, a video and a customer support number in case you have any problems. It is possible to lower the side panel itself, but this isn't recommended, as it increases the risk that your child will get out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism means that it can only remain in place if it is connected to the parent's bed correctly. This feature is fantastic for peace of mind if you are breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds. The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to work with any bed that includes divan bases as well as beds with drawers, thanks to the telescopic legs. The only downside our testers noticed was that the side panel didn't flex like some of the other models, which made it difficult to observe your child from your bed.
