How to Choose a Robot Hoover and Mop

Mops also require their water tank to be kept full and their mops washed (or replaced) regularly. Vacuum-proof your home and keep things such as pet toys, cords, and clothes away from reach.

How does it work

The main part of a robotic vacuum is its motor, which creates suction power that draws dirt and other debris into the vacuum bag. Some robot cleaners have a combination of roller brushes, a side brushes and mops that help agitate and raise particles into the suction. Some come with smart features, such as the ability to automatically return to the dock once it's full and recharge. Some have integrated smart home integration and voice activation, allowing you to control the device with your smartphone app or with your favorite assistant.

Robots utilize sensors to navigate their surroundings, assisting them avoid obstacles and navigate tight corners. Common sensors include obstacle and cliff sensors that prevent the robot from falling down stairs or getting stuck under furniture. Some robots come with dirt sensors that alert you when the robot is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Many of the latest robot vacuums and mop models have many smart features, such as intelligent mapping and smart mops that differentiate between hard floors and carpets.

Some robot vacuums with mops have a multifunction dock, which can auto-empty the bin and clean the mop pads and then refill the water tank. They may also be able of performing dual tasks, combining vacuuming and mopping in the same session. You can also program them to clean a particular space or room within your home on a regular basis. The time needed to clean up a space could be affected if the robot has to navigate around obstacles, such as socks, furniture, shoe tassels, or cluttered rooms.

The majority of robotic vacuums and mop systems are able to detect carpets and make the correct power settings, however they may still leave some dirt behind, particularly on shag or high-pile rug. Certain models use more power to maneuver over carpets with thicker piles than others, which could drain their batteries quickly.

Other factors can affect the performance of a robot, such as the condition of its accessories and the frequency at which it has to be serviced. A tangled side brush could be enough to prevent the robot from doing its job, and the presence of a dirty or full filter can also cause it to overheat, or even disconnect from the internet.

ECOVACS robots are equipped with smart features that reduce the demand on accessories and prolong their life span. Self-emptying stations eliminate the possibility of overflows and ZeroTangle technology eliminates the tangles that can form on brushes. These technologies, in combination with intelligent sensors and smart mapping, help the ECOVACS robot to work more efficiently.

All ECOVACS robots have an automatic refill feature, which will automatically refill the wiper blades and water tank when they run low. They also feature docking that is automatic for energy and time savings. They can be programmed to return to dock after completing cleaning or entering sleep mode after 10 minutes of no activity. If you'd like to skip a certain period, you can set the robot as DND time (Do Not Disturb). This prevents it from using its battery or going into cleaning mode until it is restarted.

The top robots are programmable to clean at specific times. They can be set through the app or you can use your smartphone as remote control to direct the robot to where it needs to be on the floor. You can also select features such as smart track, which lets the robot clean in the same direction that you walk.

One feature worth looking into is the capability to determine how much the accessories used by your cleaning robot have been used, which can help you plan when they'll need replacing.
