1. Smeg BCC02

Created by Milan-based firm Deep Design, this sleek compact and striking machine combines the distinctive retro style of the brand with modern technology. It is able to handle every step of the coffee-making process - from grinding beans and tamping them into a puck, to making milk into a texturing process and dispenses the correct amount of coffee - meaning you can create high-quality barista hot drinks with the click of the button.

The machine is also available in black, red or taupe. It can easily integrate into any kitchen design. The machine does not come free of flaws however. Many reviewers felt that it was expensive for a cup-to- bean maker (and does not come with a pitcher of milk).

There were many positive reviews about the machine's ease of use and the quality of the coffee. The digital display gives feedback and step-by-step directions throughout the entire process of brewing, helping you to improve your coffee each time. The machine will even tell you to adjust the size of your grind should you decide that's not what prefer. It's like having your own personal barista at home (minus Elon Musk's rocket building abilities and Harry Potter's invisible cape).

This model is perfect for those who prefer milky drinks. The steam wand can be adjusted to the right and left to fit a variety of drinking vessels, except Viking drinking horns. We were also awed by the speed and efficiency at which the frothing was done. It makes a delicious, full-flavoured espresso with a fantastic crema.

The BCC02 is a fantastic all-rounder that's quiet, efficient and provides great value for money at its current price of PS499. The only drawback is the fact that it doesn't offer the same level of customization as some of the other bean-to-cups we've tried. It has a pump that is 15 bars instead of the usual 19 bars. This isn't as good for producing high-quality espressos. However it's a great bean-to-cup machine for those who like their coffee strong and black. Click here to see Lavazza's great deal.

2. Melitta Barista TS Smart

The Barista TS Smart has a number of features that set it apart from other models. The most distinctive feature could be the fact that it can be controlled from your smartphone using the Melitta Connect App. This lets you change settings and even dispense various coffee recipes that are stored within the machine itself.

This makes the machine flexible and adaptable to your preferences. There are plenty of options for changing the intensity of your drinks as well as various sizes of cups and even whether or not you want to add milk. The machine also has two airtight bean containers that automatically select various specialties. The machine is set to use standard espresso beans and cafe creme, which is a German variation of long black or flat white. However, you can select any beans you'd like. There's also a convenient chute for coffee that has been ground if you'd prefer to use your own (for example, if that pesky dinner guest brings their own).

The users have also been awed by the speed of the machine. It's faster than other machine they've used. Another benefit is that the machine will notify you when one of its hoppers is nearly empty, ensuring that you do not get caught running out of your preferred drink.

The price may be a problem for some. It's not inexpensive, with prices that are close to PS999. It is still cheaper than comparable Jura machines with the same number features.

The Barista TS Smart is backed up by an extensive warranty that provides two years of coverage. This is longer than the average one year warranty, which is a sign of confidence from the manufacturer. It also includes the cleaning tablet and descaler, making it easy to keep on top of your machine's maintenance needs. This is a fantastic machine for those who are looking for a high-quality and versatile bean to cup machine that's priced at a reasonable price.
