Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can accommodate a variety of bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows for the optimal placement of battery packs and lower center of gravity, which results in better payload-to-range ratios. The EV Star REEFERX is designed to meet the needs of mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The class 4 refrigerated trucks with a single wall structure inside, and higher insulation than traditional trucks, allow for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior capacity for cargo and a payload that is industry-leading to allow for zero emission transport of passengers or goods. GreenPower has joined forces with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to easily move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW. We had the chance to test drive the EV9 for a few hours on a local freeway and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth on ruts and bumps, while the EV9 does an excellent job of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The acceleration is extremely fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by lifting the accelerator. The EV9 has a great range and can be fully recharged in about three hours at home or with any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on torque and cruise control, as well as handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer an unique experience for anyone who has never driven an electric vehicle before. In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicle offerings such as a multi-purpose, all-electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, and paratransit vehicles. greenpower scooter is already producing about 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of old diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America.
