It's made from soft materials and has breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It's available in oak and charcoal and comes with a variety of melange fabrics that blend well with most decor styles. Anna found that it was sturdy and secure once attached to her bed. The legs slid into place and the zippers were secured for security. It took her about 10 minutes to put together and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video or support number if you encounter any issues.

Our testers appreciated the ease of use offered by the side panel which can be moved upwards and down with one click of a switch. This was a huge help during feeding times at night because it meant they could easily reach in and pick up their baby without disturbing them.


The side panel can be lifted by itself, but it's not recommended since it increases the risk of your child falling out of the cot. The safety locking system ensures that the side panel will remain in place if it's connected correctly to the mattress of the parent. This is an excellent feature to have for peace mind, particularly in the case of breastfeeding and frequent night feeds.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be compatible with any bed that includes divan bases as well as beds with drawers due to the legs that can be telescopic. It has a tilting feature for reflux babies, and an option to rock to ease them into sleep after a feeding. It's also extremely spacious and has excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.

Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, though it does come with an extensive instruction manual. It's heavier than other side-sleepers but it's still very mobile and can be moved from room to room easily. It's also foldable up into its travel bag which is great if you want to transport it. The only negative our testers have found is that the side panel didn't flex as much compared to other models. This made it a little harder to observe your baby from the bed.

The Shnuggle Air

If you're in search of a bedside crib that will grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth a look. It's a sleeper crib that attaches securely to your bed and can be turned into a stylish cot once your baby is old enough. It is ideal for feeding your baby at night and enhancing your bond with your baby's new.

The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other cribs. The mesh side panels with dual-view and airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable increase airflow and keep your baby comfortable and cool. A gentle incline can help to ease reflux and colic and colic, while the zip-down side allows you to feed or comfort your baby throughout the night.

The kit for conversion to cot is also well-designed, with clear instructions. It includes everything you need. It took us about an hour to construct and was surprisingly simple.
