How to read body language

How to read body language

If you want to know how to read body language then you have come to the right place. Body language is basically the way people convey the message to others what they think, feel, or do. It also includes both verbal and non-verbal communication. The five most basic social gestures are hand gesture, eye contact, facial expression, body movement, and vocal communication.

Some of the most common nonverbal communication include facial expressions, eye movements, hands and feet movements, posture and speech. These things are observed by others unconsciously. In fact, we can learn to recognize and interpret these kinds of messages subconsciously by watching other people. It is important to note that our language also has its own set of nonverbal cues that we can also use to communicate effectively. When reading a person's body language or gestures, it is very important to pay close attention to the details like the timing and structure of their sentences and the variations in their stance and posture.

For example, if you are making a video call you should pay attention to the speaker's posture, facial expressions, voice inflections, etc. When we see these kinds of cues we can easily tell about the speaker's emotions. For example, if the speaker is sad, his shoulders will droop or he will grip the armrest of the chair tightly. Likewise, if he is happy with his voice he will be raising his voice and giving it the desired tone.

Another example is the so called "crossed arms gesture". In this gesture the person is simply extending both arms over his shoulder and he may even make a slight thrust from his elbow to give emphasis to his arms. The cross arms gesture may be intended to show support for someone or to emphasize his deep feelings. However, if this is done with an air of indifference or an air of merely passing by you, then the speaker is simply passing by you and showing no genuine interest in you.

It is extremely important nonverbal cues not to be ignored. Paying attention to them will help you better understand other people's body language and facial expressions. Take for example when you talk to someone, you will mostly hear what they are saying, but it is sometimes possible to catch occasional words or phrases out of their mouth. How to read nonverbal messages is more an art than a science. Yet it is an important component to successfully understanding people and communication with them.

A good way to start learning is to learn how to decode the language of nonverbal communication. When studying how to read a figure of speech such as body language, you will learn how to convey specific meaning with body motion. You will also need to understand facial expressions. These are the things that other people notice about you. Understanding how to decode these messages will help you better gauge others feelings and emotions and possibly get a better first impression.

Body language and facial expressions are the best way to express emotions that are not commonly expressed through words. If you understand the underlying meaning behind the gestures, it becomes easier to relay those emotions in spoken form. This will allow you to convey emotions more easily and effectively than if you did not understand the underlying meaning of the language used.

In today's society, many people use mobile devices to communicate. When studying how to read body language, it is important to pay attention to what the person is displaying. Do they hold both hands up while they are talking? Is there an upward or downward movement of the shoulders? Notice anything out of the ordinary?
