3 Wheeler Pushchairs

This 3-wheel pushchair is designed to handle a variety of types of terrains including woodland walks to a stroll along the high street. It comes with a great suspension, tyres with foam-filled tyres that will never flatten, as well as an easy-to-fold system. You can also add an additional seat or carrycot.

Choose a model that has pneumatic tires (also known as air-filled tyres) if you plan to drive in both urban and rural areas. They can handle paved and rough surfaces.

Easy to manoeuvre

Having one wheel at the front and two at the back, a 3-wheel stroller provides greater maneuverability, making it easier to maneuver through rough terrain. Parents who lead being active and want to take their kids off-road will find these prams a excellent option. They're also more stable than four-wheel prams, and are a great choice for parents who want to run while their baby is in the stroller.

A large number of 3 wheeler pushchairs have been designed to be all-terrain pushchairs. These are equipped with special features that allow them to take on any terrain, including muddy and sandy paths as well as stony and uneven terrain. They're typically bigger than standard pushchairs, and some come with large puncture-proof wheels which are perfect for all-terrain use. However, these extra wheels do add weight and size of the buggy so it's worth bearing this in mind when selecting an all-terrain pushchair to bring your family around.

MFM reviewer Tara loved the Core's oversized wheels, which she says, "have great manoeuvrability and make it a breeze to navigate over rough terrain and kerb pop in town." It also has an adjustable front wheel that locks and foam-filled never-flat tyres that mean you do not have to worry about punctures on your adventures.

The UPPAbaby Ridge stroller with all-terrain design is a different model that comes with a range of great features that include suspension, adjustable handlebars, and a one handed fold. It's also suitable for babies and can be made into a travel system with the purchase of a car seat compatible with it. The 3-wheeler all-terrain pushchair is also available in a range of colours and finishes to suit your preferences.

Easy to fold

If you're planning on taking your buggy out and about a lot, it's worth selecting a three-wheeler which is easy to fold. This will save you time when it comes to loading the buggy in and out of your vehicle, or in a tight area such as a supermarket aisle.

Some brands promote the fact that their pushchairs are able to fold up quickly and easily. This is a major selling point, particularly if you're going to be using your buggy a lot for getting off and on public transport or frequently in and out of your car.

If you are looking for a quick and simple folding system there are plenty of options to pick from. A lot of lightweight buggies come with an innovative pull mechanism that is one-handed that enables you to quickly and easily fold up the frame. This includes the well-known Priam pushchair, which was awarded silver in the MFM lightweight buggy review in 2014. The Baby Jogger City Mini also features a patent-pending quick-fold system that requires only one hand needed and can fold flat in less than five seconds.

If you plan to use the pushchair for walking in urban areas, or even with an infant car seat or carrycot, it is important to choose a pushchair that is easy to fold. If you need the buggy to be stable for walking on uneven ground or bumping down and up curbs, you should opt for a four-wheeler because they tend to have greater stability and are less likely to fall over than three-wheelers.

If you are planning on driving your buggy through rural areas or on unpaved tracks, choose a model with air-filled tyres (sometimes called pneumatic) because they will be able to be more able to handle rough terrain than wheels that have been moulded. Some models come with wheels that lock on the front to give extra stability on rough terrain. If you're not sure what kind of terrain you will be using your pushchair for you can try it out in the shop by pushing it across different types of ground. Certain models come with a variety of features that can help you adapt your stroller for different terrains. These include a suspension system and extra large puncture-resistant tyres, and the capability to upgrade tyre sets to handle more difficult conditions.

Easy to clean

It is essential to keep the condition of a pushchair and keep it looking good. The best method to achieve this is to clean it regularly. A thorough clean-up with soapy water warm and warm will take away most dirt and marks but it's also a good idea to use a brush and a hose pipe (on the lowest setting) to reach the corners, the nooks and crannies of your pram/stroller. It's best to do this outdoors on a dry day, tipping it upside down as much as possible to ensure you get inside the wheels and mechanisms, where dirt often collects.

If you're worried about staining you can try a solution of vinegar and water or bicarbonate of soda on a cloth. Both of these can take out staining that is difficult to remove and neutralize odors. Regularly wiping down the surface with warm water can prevent mould from forming which is not just ugly, but also unsanitary for toddlers and babies to sit on.

The manual is among the best ways to keep the condition of your pushchair and clean. The manual will give you details on how to construct and deconstruct your buggy as well as information on the materials. The manual will show you how to clean the fabric sections as well as the hood and other components of the buggy (everyone recommends washing them at least two times every two weeks) and also check the air pressure in the tyres frequently (normally specified in the manual).

Because the majority of pushchairs are used often, the metal chassis and moving parts can be exposed to a lot wear and tear over time. If left, this can result in loose nuts and bolts or even rust, so it's recommended to check your pushchair on a regular basis for signs of wear. Contact the manufacturer immediately if you notice any problems. This will ensure that your pushchair working properly and prevent any safety issues.

Easy to transport

A 3-wheeler pushchair is much more maneuverable than a 4-wheel model. This is particularly true if the rear wheels are big and designed to deal with rough terrain. It is possible to easily move them between streets and over bumps. All-terrain pushchairs are great for those who reside in rural areas or who take their baby or toddler for frequent walks across rough terrain. They are ideal for woodland walks and for those who have to tackle difficult terrain. A lot of them can be tethered to your car seat or infant carriers for an all-in-one solution.

The majority of pushchairs with all-terrain features large, puncture-proof tyres that are designed to be tough enough to handle uneven and bumpy surfaces. However, 3 wheel pushchair of them still have good suspension too to help you navigate tricky areas and make the ride as comfortable as it can be for your child. They also tend to be quite heavy, which means they may be difficult to lift when folded, especially when you're using them for a child in the seat and have lots of shopping bags.

Another thing to consider is the size of the basket for the pushchair with 3 wheels you're looking at. A lot of them have smaller shopping baskets than their 4-wheel counterparts. If 3 wheel pushchair plan to do a lot of shopping or have a growing baby, you may need a larger stroller that can accommodate your needs.

An excellent example of a pushchair that is all-terrain is the Roma Atlas, which has a single front wheel and two large rear wheels. This gives it impressive manoeuvrability for such a large pram and the option of adding a car seat or infant carrier. It also has a range of features for parents like the hand brake that is simple to use and a movable handlebar as well as an extended hood. It's a fantastic option for walks in all terrains and is also able to be used as a jogging stroller once your child is old enough!
