Toto produces the Washlets that are the Japanese toilets that are so well-known in Japan. These toilets come with a heated seat, a bidet, and deodorizer, among other things.

Before the formation of Toto its members were session musicians for Steely Dan[3] Seals and Crofts[4and Crofts[4] Boz Skaggs, Sonny and Cher. Guitarist Steve Lukather was the band's leader.

About Toto

Toto was founded in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also famous studio musicians working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. Taking their name from the Latin word which means "all inclusive," the group was intent on exploring every musical style.

The third album by Toto, Turn Back, was not a success in 1981. However they made amends with their fourth release, Isolation, which contained two hit songs including the title track and Roseanna. The album and the tour helped them become a household name around the world.

After a brief break, Toto returns with the album Fahrenheit. It marks a step away from the ballads of previous albums and also includes some heavy rock. It was their first platinum album in North America.

In the course of recording the band's fifth album, the band loses their manager and are faced with financial difficulties. They decide to record a brand new album and change their name to an entirely different producer. The lead vocalist Fergie Frederiksen leaves the band and is replaced by Joseph Williams, son of legendary film composer John Williams and 1950s actress Barbara Ruick. Joseph is a more natural frontman than Frederiksen and gives the band a much-needed boost.

The band releases Mindfields in 1999, and then embarks on a huge tour around the world. After a few weeks in Europe, the band heads to Japan for sold-out shows. After a brief break, Toto resumes recording and continues to record their first live album entitled Absolutely Live in 1993 which includes the cover of Weezer's track Hash Pipe in response to the band's cover of their hit Africa during a recent tour. Toto's touring lineup is completed by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.

The next year, Toto toured together with Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band. This was the last time that all of Toto's original members appeared on stage at once. Following this, the group disbanded once again. Toto came back together for the benefit concert in 2010 to raise funds for the ALS Foundation. It was the first time all of the original Toto members were performing together for more than 31 years. The original group was joined by keyboardist Greg Tambu who filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate who filled in for Shem von Schroeck.

Toto is among the most well-known groups in rock music. They have had megahits such as "Rosanna," Hold The Line," and "Africa," which has been certified platinum 8X. The band's anthemic arena-rock is heavily influenced by a variety styles, including progressive rock, world rhythms, jazz, and soul.

Despite their fame The group faced a few difficulties in their later years. In 2002 the keyboardist David Paich and drummer Greg Phillinganes were forced to take a medical leave of absence. Drummer Shem von Schroeck took over and the band was not the same without Paich and Phillinganes. The group returned to touring in 2012 after the release of the album 40 Trips Around The Sun.

The album marked a return to form for the band and the tour was accompanied by sold-out shows in North America and Europe. Toto's reunion was bolstered by the inclusion of guitarist Steve Lukather and bassist Shem von Schroeck, who had both rejoined the band.
