World of Warcraft Item Upgrades Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats. Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount. Item Level The value of an item's stats base increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item. Item level is a widely used measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is capped at a lower level). The average item level can be found on the character sheet. When deciding to purchase or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's a measure of the damage and quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done by using the level of the item. On PC, you can view the item level using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its level. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat. There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by an equation that determines how valuable an item's stats actually are. item upgrader is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is typically close to Blizzard's actual item level. However, this isn't the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, since the level of the region the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances. Item Stats The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn enhanced by the player's level. Upgrades to the item add by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices. Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes can provide the item extra damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item. Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling. In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within that range unless they are an exclusive item, or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid. This is another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to enhance. Similar to the base equipment, this must be done per item and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats simultaneously. Item Luck The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade item s. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is particularly useful for early game runs, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains. In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances that increase with each new level of item. These can also be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing. Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item, up to 140. Furthermore there are certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be purchased from the shop or crafted using the right ingredients. Item Failure Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails. The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.. The luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by 5percent. Note that item upgrade s are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
