An Electric Fire Place Wall Adds Warmth and Ambiance to Any Room

A fireplace mounted on the wall provides warmth and comfort to any space. These units are easy-to-install and look stunning.

Many models come with remote control, which is a great convenience. Some models also have different heat settings so you can customize the amount of warmth you experience.

Create an attractive feature Wall

You can give depth and dimension to your electric fireplace wall by using built-ins or other types of materials. For example the addition of the linear or corner fireplace to a recessed wall is a perfect option to frame a TV in your living room or den and also give the room some extra personality.

You can go as bold or simple as you want with your feature wall's color, texture and style. For example, if you're attracted to natural elements, an accent wall made of stone is ideal to give texture depth and a sense of balance and order. Black accent walls create a moody drama which is a great match for warm or cool colors. They can be used in any setting, whether modern minimalist, industrial, or even eclectic.

Kuefler states, generally that installing a wall mounted fireplace is relatively simple. However it's best Kuefler suggests to follow the guidelines that come with your particular model. This is because some models require special hanging and framing methods.

For instance when you're using a recessed mounting fireplace, it will need to be fully framed within your wall and covered with an appropriately fire-rated material--typically H2 framing pine, and fibre cement or plasterboard. "This ensures that the fireplace is completely protected by a fire-proof material," she explains.

After your cladding has been completed, you can hang the electric fire in a hole that is already built into your wall. The hole is mostly comprised out of LVL (engineered wood beams). You can then add finishing touches like mantel and surround, and then finish the project by installing a television mount.

A recessed electric fireplace won't heat your walls as effectively as gas fireplaces. Kuefler states that traditional gas fireplaces produce a lot heat from the sides and the top.

While you are able to mount your flat screen TV over the majority of gas fireplaces for security reasons, it's not recommended for traditional models. She explains that "the smoking and temperatures could cause damage to the electronics inside your television." This is not an issue with an electric fireplace because there's no venting.

Work Around Existing Windows

A wall of electric fire can be built around the wood-burning or masonry fireplace. A fireplace that is recessed may be mounted into studs in the wall, either in part or completely (depending on the model) and finished with a mantel, giving it a seamless appearance. It can be hardwired in the wall or connected to an outlet that is standard.

Since electric fireplaces don't require venting, you can install one almost anywhere, including close to a shower or bath. It is recommended to install a GFI (Ground Failure Interrupter) circuit, also known as a receptacle, to protect the fireplace from water intrusion when bathing or taking shower. To ensure safety, you should use a ceiling fan to remove moisture from the room when showering or bathing.

A recessed fireplace is a fantastic option for rooms with high ceilings as it can to reduce the perception of height and make the space appear larger. If you're planning to install a fireplace that is recessed, make sure to follow the guidelines of the manufacturer for framing and fixing the fireplace to the wall and the specific requirements for laying the drywall.

A bookcase or cabinet on either side of the window could be used to create a frame around it. This creates a unique look and helps balance out the size of the TV and the fireplace, as well as other decorative things on the wall. Gray Space Interiors, for example, balanced a large stone wall fireplace that has two windows in the upper half, and an integrated white side on each.

You can also put up floating shelves to complement your fireplace and a flat screen. This gives an elegant and contemporary look which can be easily adapted for any space. You can create a modern entertainment wall by pairing the long linear electric fireplace with a Frame television as seen in the basement media room of Maite Granda.

Create a niche

Electric fireplace walls are a great alternative if you're looking for the look of a fireplace place, but don't have to deal with gas lines or venting. A lot of these fireplaces are controlled without heating to provide ambiance and enhance the look of rooms. You can also find electric fireplaces with additional accessories that allow you to include pebbles, logs or crystals to the flames.

Kuefler says that unlike gas fireplaces which require expensive venting and chimneys to operate, electric fireplaces don't protrude too much from the wall. best in wall electric fireplace can be purchased with trim kits to make them look like an integrated unit.

In some cases, an electrician can install a built-in electric fireplace for you, however the installation process is more complex than installing a freestanding fireplace or recessed hearth made of drywall. This is because a built in model is completely finished into the wall, and you'll have to take down some of the wall.

However, a built-in electric fireplace is more affordable than laying new drywall or changing an existing fireplace made of wood to an electric one. It can be constructed of stone or brick and comes with a mantel and surround. Some have remotes that control the flames and fire which makes them a great choice for busy homes or rooms where people gather.

A recessed or wall-mounted electric fireplace is easy to install and homeowners can often do it themselves over a weekend. The most crucial step is to connect the brackets for mounting to the studs that are behind the drywall. If you don't do it correctly, your fireplace could be thrown off and cause damage to the home.

Once the brackets have been installed, you can mount your fireplace. The exact details vary from model to model. But, all have a bracket ledge on the bottom of the fireplace as well as an area to attach it to the studs on the top. Some models come with a mounting set as well as detailed instructions.

While you can purchase a stand-alone electric fireplace that can be moved from room to room, it is best to opt for an inbuilt unit to ensure maximum stability and security. You can opt for a recessed model that comes with an air-flow fan that draws warm air from the ceiling. This will make the room feel more spacious and comfortable.

Create a Cozy Cottage style

A fireplace is often the focal point of a cottage-style home. When it is clad in white, it provides warmth and comfort to the space while enhancing the lighter colors that are used throughout the space. It also makes the room feel bigger and brighter. Add shelving above or next to your fireplace to display ornamental things like candles, books and family photos. This will create an inviting atmosphere.

You can construct a cottage fireplace wall using natural stone or recycled wood. Or, you can use a more modern material like stacked drywall. The choice of material will depend on your personal style. A stone facade can give an appearance of heft and warmth to a room and a reclaimed wood mantel gives the illusion of history. If you're drawn to the more contemporary designs like Bauhaus or geometric, a striking geometric pattern can be integrated into the wall of your masonry to showcase the MagikFlame flame effects.

If you're going for a cozy, cottage look with your electric fireplace, think about integrating the hearth into the overall design of the room. You can do this by incorporating a wood bench, window seats or built-in storage on either side of the fireplace to feel as though it has always been part of the space. Making a hearth from brick or concrete can make an electric fireplace look more authentic.

It's important that you choose a builder who is skilled in this kind of installation in case you decide to install a built-in fireplace. The built-in electric fireplace is not able to be moved or removed as an recessed fireplace. It has to be wired to electricity before being inserted into the wall. A professional can give you suggestions on the best location to install a built-in fire place in your home, as well as how to finish the walls surrounding it to create a seamless, elegant look. They can help you choose the right material for both your hearth and surround as well as the mantel that will best fit your space.
