A 2 in 1 Travel System

A stroller and car seat combination is the best choice, whether you want to travel comfortably or design a more modern version of the pram. Check the specs to make sure that your car seat and stroller are compatible or think about purchasing an adapter.

Editor-tested travel systems allow you to move your sleeping newborn seamlessly from the car to the stroller, without disrupting them. Some travel systems have the option of a carrycot that encourages the natural sleep.

Car Seat

A 2-in-1 travel system includes an infant car seat and a stroller that snaps together. It's a convenient option for parents and caregivers who often run errands while with their infant or take their little child on rideshares or public transportation. "You'll have less gear to manage," explains Graco spokeswoman Rachel Stanton. "And it's great for families who alternate between carpooling with other moms or using public transit."

Doona infant car seats and latch bases are a popular choice, with 90 percent of Amazon reviews rating five stars. It's a rear-facing car seats that drops down into a rolling stroller--the transition only takes seconds. The wheels fold down underneath and it's small when not in use. The Doona can also be connected to a car's backseat using the rigid LATCH base, or to taxi-safety belts. This makes it ideal for city families.

The Mamas and Papas Pramette is a top car seat/stroller combination, featuring a pram with the hood as well as a front seats that open to allow you to lie your child down to sleep or feedings. It comes with a large basket, cup holders, and an umbrella shade for your baby's essentials. The stroller seat is a multi-position reclining seat and can recline to a flat position, so your baby is comfortable for every ride.

Other important car seat features to consider are the weight and height limits as well as whether the infant car seat can be used with only the backseat belt or has an additional layer of protection, with the LATCH system built into it. Find a lock for the handle to ensure that the handle stays in position. You can also tilt the handle towards the seatback in the rear to create an anti-rebound bar.

It's worth noting that travel systems only work with infant car seats, and extended-use car seats that can later be made forward-facing snap into strollers. Because of 2 in 1 stroller , many moms opt to get a separate car seat and stroller when their child grows out of the infant seat.

Stroller

A stroller is an essential piece of equipment for the new parents. Some travel systems include a baby pram which can be transformed into a comfortable infant carrycot. This is ideal for parents who don't want to disturb their baby while traveling. Some brands also have carseats and strollers combo that can be connected. This allows you to keep your child in the car seat while transferring them to a stroller without disturbing them.

A quality stroller must be equipped with a variety of features that make it functional and user-friendly. It should have an ample basket in which you can store essentials like nappies or snacks, as well as toys and toys. It should also be in a position to recline to provide your baby a restful and comfortable sleep. It should also come with a good canopy to protect your baby from the sun's rays and a lockable for the front wheel to ensure safety. Additionally it should be light and compact enough to make it easy to store or transport to and from the car.

Travel system strollers that have been tested by an editor such as the UPPAbaby Cruz v2 Combo, Chicco Keyfit Caddy and Doona Combo all provide convenience by connecting to a variety of top car seats that can be attached to the frame and fold effortlessly. Some have one wheel on each leg to make them easier to move and roll over different surfaces.

Ideally, a stroller should be versatile enough to last through toddlerhood - and beyond if you require it to to transport your child to and from school, activities and play dates. When your child outgrows their car seat, you should consider a stroller that is able to seat your child in the world and can recline.

If you are planning to use your 2-in-1 travel system on public transport you should look for models that have an ISOFIX base, which makes it safe to take off and on buses or trains. Some models, like the Doona can be mounted on planes and trains to make traveling with your baby easier.
