Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band did sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their earlier efforts and was criticized for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group The group held auditions for the new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old tapes and demos to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto began an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock band from the United States. It was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The six-member group consists of guitarist and vocalist Steve Lukather, bassist David Paich and keyboardist/vocalist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarist and vocalist Joseph Williams. The eclectic mix of influences in the group makes it one of the most well-known groups of all time. The band's music was featured in more than 200 movies and television shows including The Godfather & The Prince of Egypt.

In 1983 the band released Toto IV, which earned an international recognition. After the success of the album, the band went on a world tour in support of it. During the tour, lead vocalist Bobby Kimball was arrested on drug charges. The band decided to let him go at the end of the tour and hired singer/guitarist Joseph Williams in his place. David Hungate, the drummer was also let go following the tour. He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.

The TOTO Museum is an impressive futuristic building that has several rooms devoted to telling the story of the company and its most innovative product. The museum's exhibits include toilets and faucets, as well tableware that have contributed to the expansion of TOTO over the past half century. Toto has released numerous music videos. The band has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the band is "Africa" which has more than a billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library, with the band performing atop a stack of African books.


The song "Africa", from the album Toto IV, was written by the members of the band and produced by David Paich. ????? ?? was written by the band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge success in Europe and other countries. The success of the single helped Toto to regain their fame, after their previous album Turn Back failed to chart in the United States.

After the album, Toto went on a world tour. The group featured touring musicians Lenny Castro and Shannon Forrest. Warren Ham, Shem von Schröeck and Shem von Schroeck also were part of the group. In addition guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.

In 1985 In 1985, drummer Fergie Frederiksen left Toto due to personal reasons. The group decided to hold an audition, and ultimately chose Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.

Before and during Toto's formation it was a time when its members were session musicians for a diverse variety of artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate were on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs, which led to Toto's formation. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan's records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

In 1998, Toto began working on a special project called Old Is New. This album included three new tracks as well as several recordings of old songs. The album was a hit worldwide and the band went on a world tour to promote the album.

The group Toto is best known for their hit song "Africa", recently came together for a concert tour to promote their latest album, All In. The album came out on November 6, 2018 and featured three new songs from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, as well as completed recordings of four older tracks with Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also included a cover of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" that the band decided to add after hearing a rendition on the radio.

Toto was formed in Los Angeles, California by friends from high school, David Paich, Steve Lukather and brothers Jeff and Mike Porcaro. The group became one of the most well-known rock bands in the world and has sold over 40 million albums. The band continues to perform sold-out concerts worldwide and has earned numerous awards and praises. Toto's musicians are serious however they do not take themselves too seriously which has contributed to the success of their music.
