CBT Motorcycle Course For Novice Riders


If you're 17 and older A1 licences are available for those who are 17 and older. A1 license lets you remove your L plates, use a scooter or a small motorcycle and carry a pillion rider.

Two-day class without tests. It's a great introduction to riding, focusing on reviewing the fundamental components of a bike, as well as slow exercises for controlling.

Compulsory basic training (CBT)

You should select a motorcycle school that offers comprehensive CBT to ensure that you are well-prepared and ready for the world of two-wheeled motorcycling.

Module 1 Theory Test

The first step towards gaining an A1 licence is passing your motorcycle test in the theory section. It is a 40-minute test that assesses your understanding of road rules, traffic signs and general safety. To increase your chances of passing, it's advised to study the Highway Code prior to taking this test.

The next day, following your CBT, you will begin module 1 training on the test-capacity bike for your license category. If you're aiming for an A1 it will be an A1 Honda Monkey. The course is packed with balance and control off-road exercises to help you master the necessary moves for the module 1 test. You will also visit the DVSA test center to familiarize yourself with the procedures and marking system that are used for each test.

After completing your training, you are able to take your module 1 motorcycle test at a DVSA approved test centre. You will require your CBT certificate along with a valid passport or driving licence with a photo.

Once you've passed your Module 1 then you'll then be able to take your Module 2 test, which takes place out on the road. The examiner will guide you on a short ride around the area and you'll have 35 minutes to complete it on your own. The examiner will be assessing your ability to multitask while following the road's signs and will be looking for that you demonstrate good driving skills.

After passing both Module 1 and Module 2 you can enjoy the freedom that comes with an A1 light license. This will allow for you to use bikes up to 125cc without the need for a learner's licence. Additionally, you will not be required to display your L plates. Module 2 Practical Test

Once you've passed Module 1 and your theory test, you can take the practical part of your motorcycle licence - Module 2. This test will grant you an A1 license that permits you to ride a motorcycle up to 125cc and with power of up to 11 BHP. You can also carry passengers and ride on motorways.

The Mod 2 test is a practical riding test that will take approximately 10 minutes of uninvolved riding. During this time, the examiner will follow you along the pre-determined route, which will be subject to traffic and road conditions. The route will include busy intersections, roundabouts and dual carriageways and you'll need to be able to ride in a variety of conditions.

Module 2 will test your ability to recognize, anticipate and navigate busy roads. This is crucial as it allows you to make quick decisions when driving on the road. For instance, if you're driving along the road and notice a car pulling out towards your path, you will have to be able react quickly.

You'll also have to demonstrate a good speed control and be capable of pulling away smoothly and stop in a safe manner and maintain speed. It is also crucial to demonstrate effective brakes and be able to perform a controlled U-turn whenever needed.

Then you'll be assessed on your ability to signal and change gear. You'll be asked to signal before overtaking another vehicle, when you exit an intersection, and to change gears when needed.

After completing both parts of Module 2. You will receive a letter with your A1 licence. You'll then be able to ride your new bike around the countryside or commute to work in fashion and ease. Your brand new A1 license is your ticket to freedom and adventure whether you ride a supermoto or a scooter.

Licensing

This course is ideal for those who already have completed their Module 1 & 2 passed and are looking to enhance their riding abilities & bond with their bike. It will usually involve more advanced exercises and training like looking through your turns and leaning to control your bike at higher speeds. It also covers hazard prevention and high speed cornering, as well as brakes and braking at high speeds. The class will last for 6 hours on the roads with a Ride Coach. you will be able to select your own bike for this course.

This is an excellent option for drivers who are unsure if the full license is what they really would like. It provides you with all the training you need, including the Module 1 & 2 tests as well as off-road skills for your Cat A licence, so it will give you everything you need to get out on the road without having to take the test in the first place.

You will begin on an e-bike to get familiar with your riding position and your balance before moving on to a larger bike in your category. This is typically 500cc motorbike. You will receive your own bike and helmet for this class.

The BRC is a 5-day program that provides the education and skills you require to become a licensed motorcycle rider in the state of Tennessee. Successful completion of the BRC will allow you to skip the written and driving motorcycle tests at the TN Department of Motor Vehicles.

You must be at least 16 years old to complete the Basic RiderCourse. If you are not yet over the age of 18 You will require the signature of a parent or guardian on both the Covid Release, Waiver and Indemnification forms (click here for the form) and the Motorcycle Safety Program Parent/Guardian Agreement form. Your parent or guardian will also need to complete the MSF online course prior to attending your BRC course.
