Albums

The discography of the American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, as well as numerous compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group did sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group and the band held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their album Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the special record. ????? was a hit by fans and the band went on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as the drummer during the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.

Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate were on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs which led to Toto's formation. Keyboardist Paich was frequent on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

In ????? , Toto started working on an album titled Old Is New. This album included three new tracks, as well as a number of finished recordings of old songs. The album was a global success and the band went on tour to promote the album.
