The Silver Cross Slumber Bedside Crib Travel Cot


Designed for divan beds, this bedside crib is easy to put together. The instructions are a little difficult to follow as there is a specific order in which you need to place the pieces however, MFM test subjects said it was very intuitive once they got used to it.

It can also be folded extremely quickly, compactly and fit into a travel bag.

Easy to assemble

If you're in search of a travel crib that is easy to move around and set up take a look at the Silver Cross Slumber. It's designed to function as a crib that can be placed at your bedside that keeps your baby close at all times of the night and allowing you to feed them without having to get out of bed. It is also lightweight and compact, making it perfect to travel with.

The crib is easy to put together with poles that you bend into the position and a sheet to pop over the mattress. Once it's all set and you're ready to put your baby in. Emily mom test subject, says it took her two attempts to master the assembly, but once she was able to master it, it was easy. The daughter also did well sleeping.

It comes with a newborn bassinet and foldable mattress so it's suitable from the moment of birth. It comes with a side zip that allows you to lay close to your child and watch them sleep. Then, you can roll them into the crib for safety, and then zip it back up. This is a great choice for those who are used to co-sleeping and are looking to continue it for as long as is possible.

She also was impressed by the size of the crib noting that it was bigger than a Moses basket, but not too big. She was able to find bedding for and the mattress was of good quality, in contrast to other mattresses she's seen which feel flimsy or thin.

It's important to remember that a crib for bed isn't an alternative to a baby swaddle or sleeping bag, as it doesn't ensure an uninvolved sleep. Back To Sleep campaign guidelines recommend that your baby sleep on their back in their crib or cot. It is essential to take away all blankets, pillows, and duvets that may hinder your baby's breathing.

Easy to clean

A bedside crib travel cot will help your baby sleep comfortably while you are away from home. You can monitor them as they sleep, and you have a safe space to change their diaper. But before you purchase a crib that is placed on the bed, be sure to check its safety features. Check that it meets British Standards and is easy to clean.

Easy to store

Like the name suggests, this crib is super easy to store away and keep clean. The legs and sides can fold flat into a bag that fits into your car bag, suitcase or backpack. It is perfect for weekend trips, day trips, and the occasional overnight stay. The mattress is soft and feels wonderful to the touch. The fabric is machine washable and is durable. The mattress is a little deeper than many and our mum tester Kathryn was forced to bend to pick her toddler up for bedtime.

It's a bit heavier than some of the other travel cots we tested, but it's still quite compact and light. It's easy to set up, and the four mesh sides are great for visibility and ventilation. It also features a handy changing station as well as a nightlight and music function, although our mum tester Nicola discovered that her son Olly didn't really enjoy the extra features, and thought they made her work more difficult in the dark.

The cot, minus the other accessories, is a simple and basic design. It's still one of the most well-liked cots on the market due to its weight and convenience. It's suitable for infants and easily converts into a toddler travel cot and playpen, with the side that opens for easier access. It comes with a carrybag which makes it easy to transport and store when not in use.
