A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed A bedside crib will allow you to keep your baby close during the night, without needing to get up. The fabric is breathable, which means you can easily see baby and they're incredibly easy to lower for those tired 3am feedings. Some double as moses' baskets. What is a bedside cot? A bedside crib, also known as a bassinet or a co-sleeper is a baby cot that is attached to an adult bed. This allows your child to sleep right next to you in safety. It's a method of co-sleeping that is safe and does not increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) similar to bedsharing and can help you build a bond with your baby's new arrival. These cots often come with a side that can be raised, so you can easily reach your newborn during the night for feeding and comforting. This is particularly beneficial for mothers recovering from the c-section. Many of them are foldable or portable so you can use them to travel or as an interim solution for infants who aren't quite ready to move into a crib that is large enough. Look for a crib with an air-conditioned mattress, as well as an appropriate cover to shield your baby from stains. You'll also want to buy baby-safe items like a blanket, teether and cuddly toys. If you're looking for a more long-term solution Some cribs have conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a toddler bed or cot at the time that is appropriate. This is a great option for extending their life and making the transition smoother. Some even have a removable top section that transforms into a bassinet, and some can be used on either an ordinary or high-rise adult bed. This is a great option for families who plan to frequently travel or switch between bedrooms at night. Be aware of the dimensions of your room to ensure you fit comfortably in the crib. A lot of cribs have a riser that can be used to create an incline for babies who have reflux. The Joie Roomie Glide The Roomie Glide, a bedside crib manufactured by the English brand Joie is a wonderful addition to their range of high-quality products for infants. This crib was designed to allow parents to connect and sleep side by side with their children without sharing one bed. It's loaded with features that make bonding between parents and baby safe, simple, and fun. One of the main features is a soft rocking motion that can be activated by the touch of a button. This can soothe baby into sleep by a gentle rhythm that doesn't disrupt their normal sleeping pattern. This is great for toddlers and older babies who struggle to settle and can help with digestive issues such as reflux and colic. The crib can also be affixed to the side of the bed using clips and straps. This makes the crib stable and secure and allows you to sleep comfortably without fearing that your baby will roll off into the middle. The rounded cocoon shape has soft padded sides and double mesh windows at both ends to allow for plenty of airflow while keeping your baby secure. The mattress comes with a firm and comfortable and has a removable cover. The aluminium frame is light and lightweight, making the crib very lightweight and easy to set up. The four wheels that lock are covered in rubber to ensure the crib doesn't leave marks on your floor and are easy to move around. It is easy to clean with fabric wipes and is simple to tote in a bag for travel, making it perfect for overnight time away from home. The Tutti Bambini CoZee Air This superior model is designed to be a safe, next-to-me-crib from birth to 6 months. It comes with rocking bars for easy mobility and castors. The airflow mattress is a premium model that provides an ideal sleeping surface and ventilators ensure your baby is kept cool. There are six different height settings including an incline option that can aid with congestion and reflux. The Tutti Bambini COZee Air crib has a removable fabric and wipe-clean lining. This makes it much easier to clean than other bedside cribs which can create a mess to clean. It also has an upper bar that can be easily lowered to accommodate nighttime feedings without the need to juggle zips. Anna discovered that the CoZee could provide a safe, cozy sleeping place for her baby. She was delighted the fact that it didn't roll like other models, meaning it wasn't waking her at night while she was trying to soothe her baby for feedings. She also appreciated that the side of the chair was lowered so she didn't have to reach over her partner to lift the child to feed them at night. The CoZee comes in charcoal or oak and is a chic accessory to any bedroom. It's more modern than other cribs we've tried, which are often quite utilitarian. It's also fairly light at just 11kg, and comes with a carrying case so you can take it on vacation or if moving home. You only need to purchase a waterproof sheet and a safety strap for sleeping together. The instructions and images are simple to follow once you open the box. The Maxi-Cosi lora The Iora is an infant bassinet designed to make parents feel closer to their baby while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and can be moved through three slide positions to be placed next to the bed of the parent, or in the corner of the room to ensure that your baby is close to the parent's side. The mesh siding allows air to flow through and allows you to see your baby easily. You can also store extra pajamas or supplies in the large storage basket beneath. In cots4tots to other bedside cribs The Iora folds flat and comes with a carry-on bag to allow it to be carried anywhere. It was easy to move around from room to space, and our mum testers felt it was the right size for a bedside crib. They also loved the large storage basket, perfect for storing spare bedding or nappies. This is a great option for parents who want to sleep in a co-sleeping bed, but don't wish to share their bed. Also, if one of the partners suffers from mobility issues like arthritis or back pain. Our mom testers loved that they could easily access their child while in the Iora and that it had an option to have a reflux incline which helped alleviate gas. Our moms are also thrilled that it complies with NICE guidelines that state to put the baby in a crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys, pillows, etc). They also say that the mattress is comfortable and firm for baby and is easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as the other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if prefer something lighter and easier for you to move, choose another alternative.
